Dear Friend of Saint Anne's Shrine,
I am excited to announce St. Anne's Shrine
Capital Campaign entitled Strengthening
Discipleship. This is a transformational
plan to ensure the Shrine's future. We are
launching a $3,500,000 fundraising effort to construct overnight facilities so that pilgrims may have extended stays at the Shrine. We are also planning an expansion to the Boucher Building to provide additional meeting space as well as the construction of a new Maintenance Building to store our equipment. It is our hope that we will exceed our goal in order to fund future operational and maintenance costs.
These new facilities will allow the Shrine to serve as a place of prayer and retreat all year round. In the summer months, faithful people from parishes throughout the Northeast will have the opportunity to make pilgrimages for a weekend or a week's time. During the academic year, young adults from Saint Michael's College and other schools will have an attractive site for retreats. Drawing people to the Shrine in the off-season months will allow the Shrine to break even in future years while providing a year-round facility for faith-based organizations in a beautiful setting.
The Shrine is a holy place where the encounter with Christ is celebrated in the Most Holy Eucharist and fostered through various spiritual programs. We will now be able to offer such prayerful activities not only in summer months but throughout the year. Such activities will strengthen discipleship among the faithful and hopefully invite others to follow Christ.
I ask for your prayers for the Shrine and the success of this project. I also request your participation in partnering with us in building for the future as we undertake this important initiative. Your financial assistance will help us provide a destination so that followers of Jesus may "Come away to a quiet place and rest a while." (Mark 6:31)
Thank you for your consideration and may God bless you in
your generosity.
Sincerely,
Rev. Brian J. Cummings, S.S.E.

Strengthening Discipleship

OUR FRIENDS OF FAITH LOOK TO THE FUTURE
In the last fifty years, the demographics and religious practices of Catholics in the Northeast and Canada have drastically changed. This has posed serious challenges to the Shrine and has threatened its viability. In order to continue and thrive in the 21st century, the Shrine must enhance its mission and read the signs of the times by reaching out to people and inviting them to be stronger disciples of Christ. As friends of St. Anne’s Shrine, we can meet the challenges that lie before us. The proposed plans are critical to the future survival of the Shrine. The increase in usage of the Shrine grounds will bring additional revenue to cover expenses, but more importantly, it will provide retreat opportunities to those desiring to deepen their faith and become stronger followers of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
YOUR GIFT
We understand that each individual or family has different financial obligations and abilities. Please consider making a gift to our Capital Campaign Strengthening Discipleship so that the Shrine can continue to be a place of spiritual nourishment. Your participation, regardless of the size of the gift, is needed and will help us reach our goal. This project will change people's lives and we invite you to partner with us by making a generous donation.
